VERNER ELSWORTH MITCHELL, 18, was in the Ranger
High School Class of 1924 at Ranger, TX. He & Oris
Wheeler (RHS-1926) were killed in an explosion on
June 7, 1925. The RHS-1926 yearbook honored them.
Verner had been the Vice-President of his RHS
Senior Class. He was born in 1907 to William E.
& Mary Buckley Mitchell. His siblings were Olga
Mitchell Vaughn (RHS-1927), Elton Mitchell (RHS-
1927), & Reuben Mitchell.
