Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1926

Mildred Matthews True MILDRED FANNIE MATTHEWS TRUE, 99, of Hillsboro, TX died on Jan 3, 2009. She was born on Dec. 27, 1909 in Chickasha, OK, to Harvey & Emmie Matthews. She attended Ranger High School in the Class of 1926 at Ranger, TX. In 1937, she married Bennie A. True and they had two daughters, Norma & Marsh. Bennie died in 1997. Her siblings were Naomi Matthews Huckabay (RHS-1924), Willie Matthrews Knowles (RHS-1924), & Sammy Matthews (RHS-1935). HUSBAND: BENNIE ARTHUR "B.A" TRUE, 94, formerly of Abilene, TX, died Sept. 27, 1997 in Hillsboro, with burial was in Elmwood Memorial Park. Mr. True was born in Kansas, graduated from Strawn High School and attended Tarleton State University. He worked in oil fields in West Texas and south Louisiana before being transferred to Abilene from Stamford in 1961. He retired from Exxon Oil and Refining Co. in Abilene after a 32-year career. He lived in Abilene for 35 years and in Hillsboro for 3 years. He was a past member and deacon of Brook Hollow Christian Church, was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Hillsboro, a 70-year member of Strawn Masonic Lodge and past president of Good Sams Club. In 1937, he married Mildred F. Matthews (RHS-1926) in Ranger. At the time of his death, survivors include his wife, of Hillsboro; two daughters, Norma Kidwell of Hillsboro and Marsha True Womack of Dallas; one sister, Blanche McKown of Austin; and five grandchildren.
