EVELYN IVY COBB, 97, of Stamford, passed away
on Oct. 25, 2006, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery
in Ranger, TX.
Evelyn was born Sept. 17, 1909 in Ranger, TX, to
Ephram & Lonnie Ivy. She was a lifetime resident
of the Big Country & attended Ranger High School
in the Class of 1928 and Ranger Jr. College. She
married Rauleigh Howell Cobb in Aug. of 1934. She
taught school at the Cobb Community School and at
Lueders for many years. She and Howell lived in
the Cobb Community in Southeast Haskell County from
the mid 30's and moved to Stamford in 1980. Howell
passed away in 1982. She was a member of the Orient
Street Church of Christ.
She is survived by her cousins: R.C. Cobb and Don
and Kara Cobb, all of Stamford, and numerous cousins
residing elsewhere, two nephews, Malcolm McKoy of
Cartwright, Oklahoma, and Bryson Patterson of Keller,
TX, and 2 nieces, Jane Routen and June Boone of Fort
Worth, TX. She was preceded in death by a sister,
Leola Ivy Barris (RHS-1925).
