Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1930

Elois Woodell ELOIS WOODELL THORN MOORE, 93, passed away on Jan. 8, 2008 in Galveston, TX, with burial at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock, TX. Elois was born Feb. 11, 1914 in Fort Worth, TX to Dell Festus & Hattie Woodell. She attended Ranger High School in the Class of 1930 and married Jack Thorn. They owned and operated Nu-Way Interior Designs in Galveston. Elois had her master's degree in education and loved to work with children. She worked for GISD as a teacher and began the education program to children in hospitals and housebound in the 1960's. After Jack's death, Elois married Edwin Marshall Moore in 1987. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Jack Thorn and Edwin Marshall Moore, and a brother, Parker Woodell (RHS-1932) and his wife. She is survived by her godson, Stephen Decker Melcer and wife Sarah & their daughter, Hannah Melcer all of Galveston; a faithful friend, Vera Carmona and devoted caregiver, Diana Suniga; nieces, Nancy Woodell Callahan, Melissa Woodell, and Susan Woodell all of Arizona.
