Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1933

JOSEPH ELVON RAPP, 84, died April 3, 1996 with burial at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Lexington, KY. He was born on April 2, 1912 in Pennsylvania to John A. & Anna Shawfield Rapp. He attended Ranger High School in the Class of 1933 at Ranger, TX. His spouse was Helen who died in 2000. He had three brothers; Herbert Rapp (RHS-1930), Lowell Rapp (RHS-1934) & Jack Rapp (RHS-1938); & a sister, Gladys Rapp Wallis (RHS-1929). John Rapp FATHER: JOHN ARTHUR "JACK" RAPP died in 1959. He came from Pennsylvania to Ranger during the oil boom bringing his wife and children. He had four sons; Herbert Rapp (RHS-1930), Lowell Rapp (RHS-1934), Elvon Rapp (RHS-1933), and Jack Rapp (RHS-1938); and one daughter Gladys Rapp (RHS-1929). He owned & operated the Lone Star Torpedo Company and worked with nitroglycerin in the oil fields. Jack was known as the world's greatest oil well shooter. His wife was Annie Shawfield.
