Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1933

ORVILLE EARNEST "JACK" BLACKWELL, 73, of Ranger, TX, died on March 8, 1986, with burial at Cross Roads Cemetery near Ranger. He was born on June 17, 1912 to James W. & Lenora Ainsworth Blackwell. He attended Ranger High School in the Class of 1933 & married Marie Charlene Nerger. Their children were Jimmy Blackwell (RHS-1971), Jerry Blackwell (RHS-1974), Helen Blackwell Cooper (RHS-1962), & Charlene Blackwell Simpson (RHS-1963). His siblings were Thomas W. Blackwell, John Earl Blackwell, Willis Blackwell, & Curtis E. Blackwell. WIFE: MARIE CHARLENE NERGER BLACKWELL, 92, of Ranger, TX, went home to be with her Lord & Savior on Sept. 5, 2017, with burial in Cross Roads Cemetery near Ranger. Marie was born March 21, 1925 in Ranger to Herman A. Nerger & Helena M. (Manthey) Nerger. She married O.E. "Jack" Blackwell in Sept. of 1941 in Ranger. Together they both worked hard in the gasoline industry where she was the secretary for 17 years. Marie was an amazing seamstress that loved to sew, arts and crafts and was a great cook. She was no stranger to carpentry, and was a Shakely Distributor. Most of all Marie was a devoted Christian who attended the Church of Christ until she could not attend anymore. Marie is survived by sons, Jimmy and Jerry Blackwell; daughters, Helen Cooper and Charlene Simpson; sisters, Polly Martin & Evelyn Reese; grandchildren, Lisa Cooper and Chance Simpson and wife Susan; and great-grandchild, Adalynn Simpson. She is preceded in death her parents, husband, brother, Chock Nerger, & grandson, Lance Cooper.
