JAMES OLIVER "JIMMIE" WESTBROOK, 53, died March 28,
1972 in Lockport, LA of a heart attack, with burial
at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen, TX. He was
born on June 24, 1918 in Menard, TX to John R. &
Ruth M. Avery Westbrook being their only child. He
attended Ranger High School in the Class of 1934
at Ranger, TX & played football on the 1934 Champion
Bulldog team. He played football at Westmoreland
College. Jimmie fought on Iwo Jima during World War
II as a U.S. Marine. He married Nevelyn C. Moseley
& they operated a grocery store. She died in 1993.
His grandson is Jim Westbrook of Houma, LA.
