AMAZAR A. BOWEN, 75, a resident of Kermit,
TX for 16 yrs. died on Dec. 29, 1987 in Odessa,
TX, with burial at the Kermit Cemetery.
He was born Nov. 8, 1912, in Thurber, TX. He
attended Ranger High School in the Class of
1934 at Ranger, TX & first married Viola F.
Blackwell who died in 1977. Amazar married
Emma Ruth Lofton at Lovington, NM. She later
died in 2001. He was a retired mechanic
for Texaco, member of the Eastside Church of
Christ and had lived in Kermit since 1951.
Survivors at the time of his death include his
wife of the home; one step-son, Elbie Bradley
of DeRidder, LA; two step-daughters, Lena Porter
of Kermit and Billie Delzingaro of Orlando, FL;
one brother, Z.Z. Bowen of Denver City; three
sisters, all of San Antonio, Christine Ponder
(RHS-1933), Zelma Townsend and Thelma McLamore
(RHS-1946); 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grand-
children; and one great-great-grandchild.
