VOLVA KIMBROUGH DOSS died Nov. 27, 2005
in Irving, TX, with burial at Evergreen Cemetery
in Ranger, TX.
Mrs. Doss was born in Augusta, KS to G.O. & Fannie
Rice Kimbrough. Her family moved to Ranger, TX
where she graduated from Ranger High School in 1935.
She married Stewart Doss (EHS) in Eastland, TX,
in 1936. Mr. Doss was the editor of the Eastland
Telegram and at that time, the youngest editor in
Texas.
Mrs. Doss was a retired employee of the City of
Dallas. She was a member of the American Business
Women's Association, Irving Garden and Arts Center,
Irving, Texas Community Concerts and Ranger Exes
Association.
Survivors at the time of her death include her two
daughters; Carolyn Diane Solakian and Mary Susan
Doss of Irving, TX; her sister Juanita Warden
(RHS-1937) of Dallas, Texas and her brother, Joe
Kimbrough (RHS-1943) of Abilene, TX; three nephews
and 2 nieces. She was preceded in death by her
husband in 1968 and a brother, Johnny Kimbrough
(RHS-1935), in 1957.
