Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1937

Inez Bourdeau INEZ HARRELL BOURDEAU, 86, passed away on Nov. 19, 2006 in Ranger, TX, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery at Ranger. Inez was born on May 9, 1920 in Ranger, TX, to Robert Emil & Ida Frances (Vaughn) Harrell. She grew up in Ranger and graduated from Ranger High School. She married William "Bill" Bourdeau (RHS- 1936) in June of 1958 in Ranger and he preceded her in death on Jan. 23, 2004. Inez joined the staff of the Eastland National Bank as a teller in 1952 and advanced to assistant cashier, assumed the duties of assistant cashier and executive secretary in 1955. In 1970, she was named assistant vice-president and head of the new special services and women's department of the bank. She was promoted to the position of vice president in 1974. She was previously associated with a chain of newspapers where she held various positions in the business office and editorial departments. She was advertising manager for the Breckenridge American for six years, just prior to her association with the bank. Inez was very active in the Abilene Chapter of the American Institute of Banking, National Association of Bank Women, Newest Group in Abilene, Civic League and Garden Club of Eastland, Thursday Afternoon Club, Junior Past President of the Eastland Music Study Club, and Trustee for the Centennial Memorial Library Board. She was also associated with the American Heart Association, and American Red Cross. A member of the Ranger Chapter Order of the Eastern Star #275, where she served two terms as Worthy Matron. She also served as Deputy Grand Matron of the Grand Chapter of Texas, Order of the Eastern Star Chapter member of the Texas Preceptor Epsilon Beta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority of Ranger. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ranger. Inez is survived by: a son, William (Billy) Harrell of Crawley, TX; a daughter, Suzette Aliceanne Cozad of Huntington, IN; a sister, Lorene Harrell Oliver (RHS- 1933) of Ranger; and niece, Dorothy Ann Oliver Fisher (RHS-1967) of Ranger.
