DOUGLAS FONZO ROSE, 75, of Eastland, TX,
died April 15, 1997, with burial in Colony Cemetery
near Ranger, TX.
He was born June 10, 1921 in Crossroads to J.C. &
Bessie Rose. He attended Ranger High School in the
Class of 1939 and married Dolores Norton in 1943.
He worked as a carpenter and was also employed by
the City of Eastland for several years before
retiring in 1987.
Survivors at the time of his death include three sons,
Tommy Rose (RHS-1965) of Eastland, Dean Rose (RHS-1967)
of Ranger and Don Rose (RHS-1977) of Fort Worth; three
brothers, Robert O. Rose (RHS-1933) of Odessa, Dwellie
V. Rose (RHS-1934) of Eastland & Charlie C. Rose (RHS-
1936) of Lake Leon; one sister, Velma Lou Walker (RHS-
1948) of Eastland; six grandchildren; and two great-
grandchildren. Other brothers were Harland Rose (RHS-
1933), John Rose (RHS-1938) and D.V. Rose (RHS-1934).
