Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1939

Roselle Nicholson Waggoner ROSELLE NICHOLSON WAGGONER, 94, went home to be with the Lord on June 12, 2017, with burial at Merriman near Ranger, TX. Roselle was born Sept. 22, 1922 in Okemah, OK to George Dallas & Esther Haggerty Nicholson. She graduated from Ranger High School in 1939 and attended classes at Angelo State University. She married Buford Waggoner (RHS-1939) in July of 1940 in Ranger, TX. Soon after marriage, Buford went to serve his country during WWII. Roselle moved to Dallas to help out while he was away. She went to work at the Chance Vought Aircraft plant as a "Rosie the Riveter" achieving the rank of Crew Chief. After the war when he returned home, Roselle settled into the life of a homemaker and mother. In her spare time, Roselle was an avid golfer and bridge player. She is a founding member of the San Angelo Women's Golf Association. Roselle was preceded in death by her husband and a sister Druanne Nicholson Townzen (RHS-1941). She is survived by her sons; Richard of Rowena, TX, Alan and wife Lois of Hubbard, TX, daughter, Susan Clark and husband Larry of San Angelo, brother, Lynn Nicholson (RHS-1953) and wife Beverly of Eastland. She is also survived by 5 grand- daughters; Michelle Lynn Waggoner Boyd (Joe), Leslie Waggoner Hayes (Lex), Christy Waggoner DeLeon (Trent), Lacy Kathryn Clark & Mary Megan Clark, and 4 great-grand- children; Cody Hayes, Cooper Hayes, Rylie DeLeon, & Jake DeLeon.
