DORTHA JEAN WILLIAMS GUEST went home to be with
her Lord on April 23, 2005. She was preceded in
death by her husband, Wilson Guest, & survived by
her children: son, Richard Guest (RHS-1962) and his
wife Donna; and her daughter, Jill Guest Smith,
and her husband Robert. She is also survived by
her grandchildren, Rich and Mike Guest and Crystal
and Alissa Smith, and by her two great-grandsons,
Lane and Logan Guest. Additionally, she will be
missed by life long friends throughout Texas.
D.J. was born June 7, 1925 and attended Ranger High
School in the Class of 1942. She moved with her
family from Ranger, TX to Sweetwater in 1962. There
she served as the President of the Sweetwater
Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital Board, Sweetwater
County Library Board and as the Bicentennial Chairman
for Sweetwater. She was also an active member of the
First Baptist Church, P.E.O. and Sorosis. She moved
to Dallas in 1998, where she continued her love of
cooking, reading, crossword puzzles, and was actively
involved in Bible Study Fellowship, where she came to
know and love her Lord in a deeper and more personal
way.
