MARY ANN JONES METCALF, 95, passed away
on July 25, 2021, with burial at Westlawn Memorial
Park in Gretna, LA.
A native of Ranger, TX and long-time resident of
the New Orleans area, she was born on Dec. 11,
1925 to the late Roney Rodney Jones and the late
Loetta Peery Jones Graham (the late Joseph Graham).
She attended Ranger High School in the Class of
1942 & later was music directory there. Loving
wife of James Marcus Metcalf Sr. (RJC) and mother
of James Marcus Metcalf Jr., Daivd Michael Metcalf
(Edna), Jamie Ann Metcalf Kelly (Kevin), & Clare
Elizabeth Metcalf. Grandmother of David Michael
Metcalf II, Christina Ann Metcalf, Cullen Kelly,
Logan Kelly, Cameron Kelly, Maura Kelly, and Toby
Kelly.
Mary Ann was a graduate of Texas Women's University
in Denton, TX and did her graduate work in Music
Education at Loyola University in New Orleans. She
taught at Ranger Jr. College and enjoyed a long
career teaching private music lessons. Mary Ann's
passions in life included teaching, writing, land-
scape painting and gardening. Her presence in our
lives will be missed every day.
