WILLIAM HUGH "BILL" GETTS, 77, of Beaumont, TX died
Aug. 3, 2003, with burial at Forest Lawn Memorial
Park.
The son of Claudia & Harold Getts was born in Ranger,
TX on Oct. 11, 1925 and was in the Ranger High School
Class of 1943. He entered the U.S. Army Air Corps and
served in the European Theatre in WWII. After his
military service he attended Ranger Jr. College, Sam
Houston State University & graduated from University
of Houston in 1951. He owned and operated Getts
Insurance Agency for 34 years.
At the time of his death, he was survived by his wife
of 54 years, Joyce Neal Getts, and a sister, Barbara
Getts (RHS-1944). Bill was the first elected president
of the Ranger Ex-student Association, serving the 1975-
1976 term.
