EMMA RACHEL ROSE WAKEFIELD, 84, passed away on
Dec. 21, 2010 in Austin, TX.
Rachel was born to Katy Lane & George Price Rose
on Jan. 23, 1926 in Herron City in Young County.
She was a graduate of Ranger High School, Class
of 1943, and attended Ranger Jr. College for one
year. She married her husband, Earl Wakefield, in
Dec. of 1945 and spent much of her married life in
New England and New York. In the mid 1980’s, she
returned with Earl to her native Texas and resided
in Olden, TX.
Rachel was preceded in death by her husband, Earl.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Durbin and
son-in-law, Jon, her son, David Wakefield & daughter-
in-law, Jean, her brother, Price Rose (RHS-1950),
her sisters, Lanelle Rose Brummett (RHS-1944), Wanda
Rose Burleson (RHS-1948), & Carolyn Rose Whittington
(RHS-1958), five grandchildren, one great-granddaughter,
and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
