ALVIN "WAYNE" RICHARDSON, 86, went to be with the
Lord on Feb. 27, 2013, after a heroic battle with cancer.
Wayne was born in Ranger, TX on Aug. 26, 1926 to Marvin
and Ellen Richardson. He attended Ranger High School in
the Class of 1943. Wayne served his country in the U.S.
Naval Air Corps in World War II. Shortly after the war
ended, he met and married the love of his life, Murel
Deen Richards, and they had two devoted children. Wayne
& Murel recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.
Wayne was a true entrepreneur who started a floor covering
business and later became a successful home builder. He
was a Mason who recently received his 60-year certification.
Wayne was a member of the Moslah Shrine Temple. He was
past president, colonel and a founding Member of the Moslah
Motor Corps. Wayne was an active member of Trinity Christian
Church where he served as property chairman, deacon and
trustee. He was an avid golfer who scored a hole in one at
age 72.
Wayne was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and was
loved by all who were fortunate enough to know him. He had
a tremendous impact on many people's lives both professionally
and through friendship and will be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a
brother. His sisters were Neva Richardson Morris (RHS-1935)
and Elva Richardson McKibbian (RHS-1927). Doyle Richardson
(RHS-1931) was his brother.
Survivors at the time of his death: His loving wife, Murel;
son, Richard Richardson and wife, Denise; daughter, Rickee
Richardson and fiance, Chris Dikmen; grandsons, Dustin
Richardson and Nathan Richardson; several nieces and nephews;
and many wonderful friends.
