MAX ALLEN ERVIN, SR. was born on July 25, 1927 in
Goldthwaite, TX, passed away unexpectedly Nov. 30,
2008 at the age of 81 in Houston, TX.
Max attended and graduated school in Ranger, TX,
served in the U.S. Navy, graduated 1949 from TCU
where he majored in art and also met the love of
his life-Dorothy McCollum. He was employed by
UNOCAL as the Industrial Relations Supervisor for
37 years. Member at St. Philip's UMC since 1971.
Max was loved by all who knew him and will be
greatly missed.
Preceded in death by his parents; Mr. & Mrs. R.O.
Ervin, brothers; James L. Ervin (RHS-1939), Donald
M. Ervin (RHS-1939), Wilbur Dean Ervin (RHS-1941),
and Buford Gail Ervin (RHS-1942), and a son; Jason
Grant Ervin.
Max is survived by his wife of 59 years-Dorothy;
children-Cindy, Allen, Stuart and Kevin. He was
blessed with 3 daughters-in-law, 14 grandchildren
and 2 great-grandchildren.
WIFE: DOROTHY MCCOLLUM ERVIN, 80, died July 8,
2009 in Houston, TX.
She was born March 28, 1929 in Osceola, TX. Dorothy
attended and graduated school in Itasca, attended
TCU where she studied nursing and also met the love
of her life--Max A. Ervin. She was a member of St.
Philip's UMC since 1971.
Preceded in death by her parents, a son, Jason Grant
Ervin, a sister and her husband--Max.
Doroth is survived by children--Cindy, Allen, Stuart
and Kevin. She was blessed with 3 daughters-in-law,
14 grandchildren and 2 great-great-children.
