Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1944

ALMER CECIL "BUDDY" LOPER, 71, was born on Sept. 19, 1926, and died Nov. 18, 1997. He was in the Ranger High School Class of 1944 at Ranger, TX. He was the son of Lillian Ada Franklin & Marion Riley Loper, Sr. He was living in Odessa at the time of his death. Buddy had four brothers, M.R. Loper of Kermit, Alfred Gene Loper of Big Spring (Morton Valley High School graduate), Wayne Edward Loper (RHS-1950) of Midland and William Merdia Loper; six sisters, Wynema Loper Rogers of Grand Prairie, TX, Thelma Alene Loper Bailey of Lubbock, Imogene Loper Harper (RHS-1954) of Austin, Gay Nell Loper Tull (RHS-1956) of Wichita Falls, Dawn Loper Lavon Rice (RHS-1959) of Las Cruces, NM, and Yvette June Loper Overstreet (RHS-1962) of Roswell, NM. BROTHER: ALFRED GENE LOPER, 66, formerly of Eastland County, TX died in Big Spring with burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger, TX. Mr. Loper was born in Eastland County & graduated from Morton Valley High School. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War and received two Bronze Stars and one Silver Star. He worked in construction and the oil field for many years and also was a farmer. He was a Baptist. He had three brothers, M.R. Loper of Kermit, A.C. "Buddy" Loper (RHS-1944) of Odessa and Wayne E. Loper of Midland; six sisters, Wynema Rogers of Grand Prairie, Alene Bailey of Lubbock, Imogene Harper of Austin, Gay Nell Tull of Wichita Falls, Dawn Rice of Las Cruces, NM, & Yvette Overstreet of Roswell, NM; and many nieces and nephews.
