DORIS RAE GROVES PIPKIN, 81, of Eastland, TX died
Oct. 22, 2008, with interment in the Eastland City
Cemetery.
Born in Olden, TX on Sept. 13, 1927 to Lois T. &
Viola Elsie Lawson Groves, she attended Olden
school and was a Ranger High School graduate in
the Class of 1944. She attended North Texas
State University and worked for Texas Electric
Service Co. in the Ranger, TX.
In 1949, she married Bruce Pipkin and they worked
for Pipkin Piggly Wiggly before opening the Pipkin
Sporting Goods and later Pipkin Motor Company where
she was the bookkeeper. She had been active in the
Eastland PTO and the First United Methodist Church.
She & Bruce enjoyed traveling and RV camping.
She is survived by sons: Gary Bruce Pipkin & daughter
Meagan of Abilene, and Mark and wife Rhonda Pipkin
of Eastland and sons Ryan Pipkin of North Richland
Hills and Rhett Pipkin of San Angelo; sisters June
Groves Heinaman of Midland, TX, and Jean Groves
Hendrick of Harker Heights; 1 niece and 2 nephews.
