ADELPHIA DANE BOWEN, PH.D., 84, of Virginia, passed
away on July 18, 2011. He was a retired Foreign
Service Officer, Professor Emeritus of History and
Economics, Lock Have University of PA. Adelphia was
born on Jan. 26, 1927 in Fort Worth, TX, to A.D. &
Bellie Bowen. He attended Ranger High School in the
Class of 1944 at Ranger, TX.
At the time of his death, he was survived by Susan
Grady of Alexandria; sons, Steve and Scott Bowen of
Alexandria, and Don Bowen of Acton, MA; granddaughter,
Amanda Butterworth of Concord, MA; brother, Stan Bowen
of New Braunsfel, TX; and sister, Minta Mercready of
Houston, TX.
