JACK T. LITTLEFIELD, 65, was born Nov. 23, 1928,
in Ranger, TX, to Onis & Gaddybell Littlefield.
He had one younger brother, Jim who was in
the Ranger High School Class of 1955. Jack
was in the RHS Class of 1946. He attended
Ranger Jr. College & Texas Tech University
and graduated with a degree in petroleum
geology. He served three years in the U.S.
Air Force and attained the rank of sergeant.
Jack married Dell Byrnes in Jal, NM. They
had two boys, Greg and Ross. Jack worked
for El Paso Natural Gas in Jal and in El Paso,
Texas, as a gas engineer until his retirement.
After retiring, Jack & Dell moved to Weatherford,
Texas. Jack suffered a heart attack and passed
away in Weatherford in August of 1994. He is
buried there near his parents.
Jack spent an interesting 3 years in the U.S.
Air Force. He was a softball pitcher for the
base teams in San Antonio and in Lubbock. At
Reese AFB in Lubbock, Jack had a record of 31-3.
He loved hunting, fishing, golf and softball.
He played in the world softball tournament in
Plainview and pitched for the El Paso Office
Team while in Jal. Jack loved to remember his
days and friends in Ranger.
