LESTER TALMAGE "SLIM" FERRELL, 73, a Ranger, TX
resident, was born in the Cheney Community on Oct. 9,
1929, to Emma Jane Walton & Frederick Eugene Ferrell.
He was in the Ranger High School Class of 1946 at Ranger,
TX and was married to Betty Jean Coker in 1959 at Nocona,
TX. He was a member of the VFW, and a Baptist. He was a
farmer and rancher, worked 22 years in road construction,
and was affiliated with the Ranger Livestock Auction for
13 years.
Mr. Ferrell is survived by his wife, Betty Ferrell of
Ranger; brother, Frederick Mazon Ferrell of Anchorage,
AK; sister, Emma Frances Ferrell Fory (RHS-1941) of
Fort Worth; nieces and nephews, Lloyd Fory of Godly,
Russell Fory of Houston, Linda, Beverly, and Vicky
of Anchorage, AK, Robin O'Neal of Tucson, AZ, and
Ronnie Melville of San Antonio.
He died in Eastland on Aug. 21, 2003, with burial at
Alameda Cemetery near Ranger.
