Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1946 RJC

Richard Bonney MARION RICHARD BONNEY, 84, of Abilene and formerly of Ranger, TX passed away May 2, 2012 in Weatherford, TX, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger. He was born on Sept. 21, 1927 in Strawn, TX, to W.F. & Mildred Medlen Bonney. Richard attended Ranger High School in the Class of 1946 and married Rosey Lorain Burdette in January of 1953 in Ranger. He was a member of the Methodist Church and was active in the Methodist Men's Group and Kiwanis Club. He was also active in bowling leagues, fishing, and hunting. He was retired from Sun Oil, formerly Texas Pacific Oil Company, working for over 30 years. Richard was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army as Sergeant First Class. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers: Frank Bonney, Jr. and Doyle Dean Bonney. Survivors at the time of his death include his wife: Rosey Lorain Bonney of Abilene; son: 1st Sgt. Richard Michael Bonney of Ranger; daughter: Kathleen Christy and husband Christopher of Park Ridge, Illinois; brothers: Bill Bonney (RHS-1948) of Grand Prairie, TX; Jimmy Bonney (RHS-1951) of Midlothian, TX and Charles Bonney (RHS-1957) of Dripping Springs, TX; and two grandchildren: Stephen and Brian Christy.
