Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1947 RJC

Jimmie Crossley JAMES ROSS "JIMMIE" CROSSLEY II, 22, was born in Ranger, TX on April 24, 1929 & was in the Ranger High School Class of 1947. He married Dorothy Lewis of the RHS Class of 1946. They had one son, James Ross Crossley, III, born in Ranger. Jimmie was the son of Claudia & Lester Crossley of Ranger. He contacted polio and died Sept. 17, 1951. Later, Dorothy married D.C. Arterburn (RHS-1940). MOTHER: CLAUDIA LEA WARNOCK CROSSLEY, 95, of Ranger, TX died on May 26, 2005, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery at Ranger, TX. Mrs. Crossley was born Jan. 8, 1910 in Big Spring to Minnie Hanes and Claude E. Warnock. She married Ross Lester Crossley in June of 1927. Mr. Crossley was born in 1907 and Claudia lived in Ranger for most of her life, working at Montgomery Ward for many years. Claudia was a member of First United Methodist Church, Children's Welfare Club, and the Lady's Golf Club at Ranger Country Club. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ross Lester Crossley who died in 1988 and son James Ross Crossley, II in 1951. At the time of her death, she was survived by her grandson James Ross Crossley, III and wife Jennifer of Las Vegas, NV, granddaughter Amy Crossley-Phillips of Amarillo, and two great-grandchildren.
