Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1947 RJC

Loretta Culpepper Samsill LORETTA CULPEPPER SAMSILL, 93, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend of North Richland Hills, TX after a lifetime of service was called home to be with the Lord on Oct. 3, 2023. Loretta "Gran" was born March 8, 1930, in Brecken- ridge, TX. She graduated from Ranger High School in the Class of 1947 and then from Ranger Jr. College. Loretta had a successful career at Bell Helicopter before meeting the love of her life, Tirey Samsill. Tirey and Loretta were married in Oct. of 1954. She became a Christian shortly after they were married when Tirey baptized her. She and Tirey lived in Meadowbrook and were members at the Rolling Hills Church of Christ before settling in North Richland Hills to raise their family. Their first child , Mark was born in 1961, followed by their daughter, Susan in 1965. They became members of the College Hill Church of Christ in 1964, and Loretta continued to serve and worship at College Hill until the time of her death. Loretta was well known for her faith in Christ, warm hospitality and her generous heart. Shortly following the death of Tirey, she began coordi- nating meals to serve families before or after a funeral at College Hill. She led this ministry for 20+ years until her health no longer allowed her to do so. She continued to provide food and deliver food to members until a short time ago. As a wife, mom, sister-in-law, & friend, Loretta gave her time, energy and spirit to everything she touched, but her favorite title was "Gran." She dedicated her life first to God and then to her family. She loved her grandkids and all of the time she got to spend with them. Her favorite song was "Count Your Many Blessings" because aside from her relationship with God, her family, espe- cially her grandchildren, was her greatest joy and her biggest blessing. Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Pearl Culpepper, and then her beloved husband in 1989. SURVIVORS: Son, Mark Samsill and his wife, Kelle; daughter, Susan Samsill Vogl & her husband, Craig; grandchildren, Brian, Matthew, and Zachary Vogl and Tyler, Colton, and Katie Samsill; sister-inlaws Carolyn Samsill & Wanda Fetchner; numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
