MARVIN DWANE WILSON, 17, was killed on a drilling
rig in July of 1950 in New Mexico. He was born Aug. 20,
1932 in Ranger, TX. He graduated from Ranger High School
in 1949 and was senior class president. He attended
Midwestern University at Wichita Falls. Marvin was
in grade school at Hodges Oak Park. At Midwestern,
he was the only freshman to letter on the varsity
football team.
His parents were Lillie Myrtle Young and Julius Marvin
Wilson of Ranger. He had two brothers; Merrill B. Wilson
(RHS-1940) and Harry L. Wilson (RHS-1947); one sister
Mrs. Irene Wilson Meredith. School-mates from Ranger
High School and Midwestern University were honorary
pall-bearers. Interment was at Evergreen Cemetery in
Ranger.
