Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1952

Mary Foreman Blakney MARY LOU FOREMAN BLAKNEY, 81, of Ranger, TX passed away on Nov. 16, 2015. She was born March 27, 1934 in the Alameda area to Carl & Mary Foreman. She attended Ranger High School at Ranger, TX in the Class of 1952. She married Douglas Clayton Blakney in Aug. of 1952 in Eastland County, TX, after 50 years of marriage he preceded her in death in 2002. Mrs. Blakney was a longtime resident of Ranger, TX, where she was residing at the time of her passing. Mary was a very loved member of her community and was known to everyone as “Nanny”. Mary retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. after 20 plus years of employment. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Nanny was strong in her faith and was a member of the Gunsight Baptist Church in Gunsight, TX. She is survived by her three daughters: Marlinda Jo Blakney Hernandez (RHS-1975) of Ranger, Mary Kathryn Blakney (RHS-1978) of Ranger and Jana Lou Blakney Guess (RHS-1977) also of Ranger. Grandchildren: Tammy Kay Bernand (RHS-1990) — preceded in death in 2011, James W. Nichols, Brandi Bumgarner (RHS-1996), Mandi Marie Bethea, Doug Thomas Kammerer (RHS-2001) and Aaron Ray Nichols (RHS-2003) as well as Alissa RaeLynn Bernard (RHS-2012) & Jayson McCloud Bernard, and a host of great-grandchildren. Nanny was the last survivor of her multiple siblings, they have all preceded her in death including Kenneth Foreman (RHS-1952). She is also preceded by her parents: Carl & Mary Foreman and her beloved Tammy Kay Bernard. Another brother was Floyd Foreman (RHS-1948). HUSBAND: DOUGLAS BLAKNEY, 66, died on April 17, 2002, with burial in the Alameda Cemetery near Ranger, TX. Mr. Blakney was born on Oct. 3, 1935 in Navarro County, TX, to Frank Blakney & Lucille Mesker-Willingham. He was a life long resident of Ranger. He was married to Mary Lou Foreman (RHS-1952). He was a blacksmith and welder. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors at the time of his death are his wife, Mary Blakney of the home; three daughters and sons-in-law, Marlinda & Manuel Hernandez of Ranger, Mary Blakney and Jerry Blackwell of Ranger, and Jana & Billy Guess of Ranger; two sisters, Linda Moak of Houston & Joyce Grubbs of Eastland; grandchildren, Tammy Bernard (RHS- 1990) of Ranger, James Nichols of Cleburne, Brandy White of Cleburne, Aaron Nichols of Ranger, Mandi Bethece of Ranger & Doug Kammerer of Ranger; nieces and nephews.
