HOWARD EUGENE "GENE"SUTTON, 80, formerly of
Seguin, TX passed away May 24, 2016 in Kerrville,
TX. The son of Charlie Lee Sutton & Ruby Archula
Abel Sutton, Gene was born on July 3, 1935 in
Ranger, TX. He attended Ranger High School in
the Class of 1952. He discovered his love of
music early in life & enjoyed playing, directing
and teaching music. Gene retired from S&H Green
Stamps then went on to other business ventures.
Although he had many interests, most important
to Gene was his faith in the Lord, his relation-
ships with family and friends, & helping others.
Gene married his high school sweetheart, Sara Beth
King (RHS-1953) and raised 3 children. After Sara
Beth's death in 1987, Gene married Erma Mullins,
with whom he spent the remainder of his life. They
were active in church, enjoyed the beauty of the
Texas Hill Country and traveling to visit loved
ones. Gene?s final act of kindness was donating
his body to science.
Survivors include Erma Mullins-Sutton, sister Pat
Banks, children Bass and Amy Sutton of Missoula,
MT, Bart and Pam Sutton of Seguin TX, and Patty
Beth and Paul Fritz of Seguin TX; grandchildren
Kolin, Sara and Hunter Sutton, Justin, Zach and
Beau Sutton and Jared and Brice Reusink; great-
grandchildren Sawyer Sutton, Amberlee Beth Reusink,
Charlie Sutton and Izach Sutton; Erma's children
Mac, Mike, Muldoon, McGraw Mullins & Molly Mullins
Burney, their children & grandchildren, and several
other step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren,
all of whom will miss him dearly. His brother was
Oscar D. Sutton (RHS-1950)
