WILLIAM "BILL" MORELAND, 81, went home
to be with his Lord on March 25, 2015 in Grapevine,
TX, with burial at the Edgewood Cemetery in
Lancaster, TX.
Bill was born June 5, 1933 in Lancaster, TX to
Turney Augusta Moreland & Viola Caroline Harral
Moreland. Bill attended Ranger High School in
Ranger, TX where he was Valedictorian of his
Class of 1952. He attended North Texas State
University, University of Guam, and East Texas
State University where he earned his Master's
degree in Education. In 1960, he married the
love of his life, the beautiful Sylvia Alford
in Lancaster. Bill worked as a teacher for many
years before retiring and living at Lake Leon.
While living at the lake, Bill was a member of
the Lake Leon Baptist Church where he served as
the minister of music. A little over 2 years
ago Bill and Sylvia moved to Grapevine to be
closer to their children and grandchildren.
There he was a member of the First Baptist
Church in Grapevine, TX. Bill loved the Lord
and his family and left many friends behind.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents,
Turney & Viola Moreland.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years,
Sylvia, 3 sons: William Moreland, Jr, Robert
Moreland, and Erick Moreland, and 1 daughter
Kara Moreland. He is also survived by 3 grand-
children.
