Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1953 RJC

Bethany Waldrip Watson BETHANY ANN WALDRIP WATSON, 85, passed away Sept. 9, 2020, with burial in the Mansfield Cemetery. She was born in Weatherford, TX on Nov 15, 1934 to Hood & Ezelle Waldrip with three sisters, Bobby, Billie, and Peggy. She attended Ranger High School in the Class of 1953 at Ranger, TX but finished at Weatherford High School. Bethany earned an associate degree from Ranger Jr. College. She married Thomas Young Watson in August of 1956. Her only son was Mark Watson. The family moved to Mansfield in 1960 and opened the EZ Mart grocery store on S. Main St. which she operated with her parents till 1977. During this time, Tommy was director of Ch. 5 news and mayor of Mansfield from 1968 till 1972. In 1973, they began farming and ranching which continues on today. Their grandson is Clayton Hood Watson and granddaughter Taylor Young Watson. Bethany spent years supporting three generations in their hay baling and ranching. She spent many years following a tractor to the next hay field. The last few months of her life, she spent living with Mark & wife at their home in Santo, TX. She is survived by son, Mark & wife Connie Watson; grandson, Clayton Watson; granddaughter, Taylor Addison & husband Ross Addison; great-grandchildren Lyla Rose Addison & Asa Riggs Addison; and sister, Peggy Waldrip Stamp (RHS-1955).
