GLENNA MAY WILLIAMSON RUFF, 80, of Abilene,
TX passed away on Aug. 12, 2015, with burial in
the Texas State Veteran Cemetery at Abilene.
Glenna was born on Sept. 27, 1934 in Eastland, TX
to Strimon & Ruby Sharp Williamson. She spent much
of her childhood in small West Texas towns while
her father farmed and worked in the oil field. She
attended Ranger High School in the Class of 1955 at
Ranger, TX. After graduating, Glenna met the love
of her life Jim Bob Ruff and the two were married
in Abilene in Dec. of 1955. J.B. had just returned
home from four years in the U.S. Army and decided
to settle in Abilene. Together they spent the next
50 plus years raising their family here.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband,
a brother, Richard Williamson (RHS-1972) and two
infant siblings.
Surviving Glenna are her sons; Jim and Joe Ruff, a
sister, Patsy Ruth Williamson Gossline (RHS-1958),
and three grandsons, Jon Paul Ruff, Eric Ruff and
Jim Bob Ruff, Jr. as well as many extended family
members and friends.
