Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1956

Lawrence Rogers LAWRENCE GLENN ROGERS, 77, of Cheyenne, WY died on Oct. 22, 2015. He was born Dec. 15, 1937 in Ranger, TX at his family home. He grew up there and attended grade school and Ranger High School in the Class of 1956. After school, he joined the US Army in Feb. of 1956. His basic training was at Ft. Chaffee, AK and afterward he was transferred to Ft. Bliss, TX, staying there through his enlistment, & was honorable discharged. He went to work with MT States Telephone & Telegraph Co. in El Paso, TX. He transferred from El Paso to Cheyenne, WY in 1981. He retired from U.S. West in 1986 with 36 years of service as an assistant manager of construction. He was a Telephone Pioneer. He married Miss Betty J. Vaughan in June of 1959 in El Paso, TX and was married for 32 years. He was a member of Masonic Lodge, Fraternity IIII-in El Paso, TX & advance to 32 degree of the Scottish Rite. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge #257 in Cheyenne, WY. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Robert Rogers & Josphine Rogers of Cisco, TX. At the time of his death, he was survived by one daughter, Shawnna Wingert of Golden, CO and three grandchildren, Daniel Rascon, Emmye Rascon, and Hayden Wingert. He also had two great-grandchildren Gage Rascon & Riley Rascon, all from Colorado.
