LANNY SLEDGE, 64, of Ranger, TX passed away
on Aug. 1, 2004, with burial at Bullock Cemetery
near Ranger, TX.
Mr. Sledge was born on Dec. 1, 1939 in Apache
OK to Gerald and Bonnie (Trotter) Sledge. He
attended school in Ranger, TX & graduated from
Lockhart. He married Jeralyn Anderson (RHS-
1963) in Aug. of 1967 in Ranger, TX. Lanny
served his country in the U.S. Navy Submarine
Service, retiring after 22 years. He then
worked in Oklahoma & Odessa as Safety Engineer
for Sharp Drilling. Most recently he was a
construction and painting contractor locally.
He attended First Baptist Church.
Lanny is survived by his wife, Jeralyn of
Ranger; son and daughter-in-law, Chad & Jill
Sledge of Rowlett; sisters, Geraldine Leanna
Lindsey (RHS-1956) of Eastland & Sharon Janette
Barr (RHS-1960) of Alice; grandchildren, Emily,
Macie, Laney Sledge of Rowlett; and several
nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and
brothers, Kenneth Wayne Sledge and David Loren
Sledge (RHS-1962).
MOTHER: BONNIE MAE TROTTER SLEDGE, 94, of Ranger,
TX, went home to be with the Lord on October 17,
2002 at a local hospital. Burial was at Bullock
cemetery.
At the time of her death, Mrs. Sledge was survived
by daughter, Leanna Lindsey (RHS-1956) of Eastland;
a son, Lanny Sledge (RHS-1958) of Ranger; & daughter,
Sharon Barr (RHS-1960) of Alice.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald
Sledge, and sons Kenneth and David Loren Sledge
(RHS-1962).
