Don Chatham DON WESLEY CHATHAM was born June 7, 1941, at Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, IA, to loving parents Jesse Floyd, a minister, & Amanda Goodell, who raised Don with ten other siblings. Don lived a full, active life and went to be with the Lord on June 15, 2023, following a lengthy battle with Parkinson's. Burial was in Lee Cemetery at Cleveland, TN. Don graduated from High School in 1960 in Ranger, TX. During the Vietnam War, he worked as a machinist building Huey helicopter parts for ten years. Later, Don became an ordained minister in the Church of God of Prophecy and served as pastor in Texas & Montana. He was a gifted guitarist, electrician, plumber, and carpenter, building and remodeling many churches, parsonages, and homes. After some 15 years working with Sam's Club, Don retired. He truly had a servant's heart to be generous and helpful to those around him. Don's greatest blessings in life were his children and grandchildren. One of his favorite hobbies was golf, which he loved sharing with his many golf buddies and family. One of Don's favorite sayings was, "We will cross that bridge when we come to it." Truly, he has crossed that bridge to his eternal home. Don was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Wilma, Virginia, and Beatrice; brothers Paul and Samuel Chatham (RHS-1963).
