HILARY MENDOZA VASQUEZ, 85, passed from
this world on Feb. 24, 2024, with burial at the
Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger, TX.
Born on Jan. 14, 1939, in Ranger, TX, Hilary had a
remarkable way of always making others feel valued
and loved. Her cheerful personality and kindness
always flowed effortlessly. Hilary was a devoted
mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, and
friend. Her absence will be deeply felt by all her
loving family, who adored her presence.
Hilary attended St. Rita's School, Young School,
and graduated from Ranger High School in Class
1960/1961. She worked at Hollywood Vassarette in
Eastland, TX, where she retired after many years.
Hilary also worked for Walmart as a cashier, where
she retired after 16 years. She was a hard, faithful
worker & enjoyed her job. Hilary also enjoyed spending
time with family, baking, dancing, & playing dominoes.
Her best loved moments were with her grandchildren,
she adored each one greatly.
Hilary is survived by her daughter, Nancy Vasquez
(RHS-2000) and husband Eric Herrera. Sister, Fern
Vasquez (RHS-1967). Brothers, Luis Vasquez, Alfonso
Vasquez (RHS-1963), and Junior Vasquez. Grandchildren,
Noah Ballesteros, Sammy Herrera, Allison Herrera,
Zakery Ballesteros, and Cooper Ballesteros.
Hilary is preceded in death by father, Emeterio
Vasquez, mother Florencia Mendoza Vasquez, brother
Cruz Vasquez (RHS-1955), brother John Vasquez
(RHS-1967), sister Nancy Vasquez Mayo (RHS-1961),
sister Teresa Vasquez Ponce (RHS-1973), son, Jose
Angel Ballesteros (RHS-2002), and niece Patricia
DeLaTorre (RHS-2000).
Rest in peace sweet Hilary. You will be deeply
missed by all whose lives you have touched.
