Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1965

Celeste Scott Hoover CELESTE SCOTT HOOVER, 76, with heavy hearts yet joyous memories that we announce the passing of Celeste of Ranger, TX. Celeste's spirit departed this world on Dec. 19, 2024. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery at Ranger. Born on Feb. 17, 1948 to Joe B. Scott & Cecelia Shellene (McDowell, RHS-1939) Scott, she was a proud graduate of Ranger High School in the Class of 1965, Southern Methodist University, and was one of the first women to graduate from Texas Tech Law School. Over her distinguished career, she practiced oil and gas law, leaving a mark in the legal community before sharing her knowledge as a dedicated special education teacher. She touched many lives through her work. Celeste's passion for learning was rivaled only by her love for animals, particularly her cherished kitty cats, who brought her immense joy. She found happiness in exploring antique treasures in thrift shops and relished going to movies and spending time with her family. Celeste was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Sondra Shellene Scott Beach (RHS-1962). She is survived by her beloved daughter, Alyssa Hoover; her brother, Joe Scott (RHS-1975), and wife, Edie; and her sister, Caprice Scott Gatea (RHS-1979) and husband Nico. Celeste will be fondly remembered for her vibrant spirit and unwavering dedication to her family, friends, faith and profession. Celeste Hoover's legacy of joy, compassion, & intellect will forever resonate in the hearts of those she touched. She will be greatly missed.
