ADAM DIAZ LOPEZ, JR., 46, of Ranger, TX
passed away on April 21, 2010 in Ft. Worth, TX,
with burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger.
Adam Diaz Lopez Jr. of Ranger, TX was reported
early morning on April 21, 2010 to have been
involved in a traffic accident. He was Care
Flighted to ICU at St. John Peter Smith Hospital,
in Ft. Worth, TX. As we all know he was a fighter,
and fought until his last heart beat. He was pro-
nounced dead at 5:01 am. Adam was our Hero & hero
to many throughout his lifetime. He was a loving
father, son, brother and uncle as well as a grand-
father. Adam was a big part of the community of
Ranger and well known.
He was born Feb. 8, 1964 to Adam Sr. & Rachel Lopez
in Abilene, TX. He attended Winters Elementary.
In 1977 his family moved to Ranger. He joined Ranger
Volunteer Fire Dept in 1981. He loved the excitement
of fire fighting and helping his community. Mainly
just helping other. He graduated from Ranger High
School in 1983, where he played football, basketball
and ran track. He was a Ranger Fire Dept Volunteer
fighter for 16 years. In 1996 he received Fireman of
the Year award. He loved hanging out at the fire
station in his spare time...when he wasn't out making
a dollar. His motto was always, “Another day, another
dollar.” He worked for Fina Gas Station in his high
school years. In 1986 he went to work for Sun Oil
Company and quit to go to work for the City of Ranger
for a year. He then was elected Commissioner of the
Water department of Ranger and then off to Freddys
Wrecker Service.
As his children grew up in Ranger he participated in
coaching T-ball, little league baseball and pee wee
basketball. Adam also attended every Ranger football
game he could. He was a long time member of the Ranger
Historical Society, & attended many city hall meetings.
Adam is survived by two sons Andrew Lopez (RHS-2005)
and Aaron Hoodie of Ranger, TX, his daughter Gabriella,
and his girlfriend Teresa Abila of Ranger, TX, mother
Rachel Lopez of Ft. Worth, TX, his father Adam Lopez Sr.
of Olden, TX, one brother Anthony Lopez (RHS-1985) of
Aledo, TX, one sister Michelle Lopez (RHS-1992) of Ft.
Worth, TX, two nephews Lane Adam Lopez, Landon Lopez,
one niece Madison Lopez. He is also survived by two
grandchildren, Nathaniel, and Kassidy Hoodie. Adam
had many aunts, uncles and cousins in his family as
well as friends. Adam will be very missed by all who
knew him and those who loved him.
