JOSHUA RAY WELLS, 23, passed away on Feb. 15,
2012 in Ranger, TX, with burial in Merriman
Cemetery near Ranger.
He was born on May 9, 1988 in Abilene to Kalem
(RHS-1983) and Rhonda Gilbert (RHS-1989) Wells
and he attended Ranger schools. He worked for
Smalley Drilling Company as a roughneck. He
attended Gunsight Baptist Church and First
Baptist Church of Ranger. He loved fishing
with his son, spoiling his baby girl Chaelyn,
and picking on his favorite little red headed
cousin Nick. He also idolized and looked up to
his favorite uncle Ronny (his Bubba). He loved
hunting, and spending time with his brother Jake.
He also loved playing with Schuyler and Brooklynn.
He especially loved his job, working in the oil
field. He was preceded in death by his grand-
parents: Johnny and Jo Ann Wells and his aunt:
Diana Davis.
Survivors at the time of his death include his
wife: Stephany Jackson Wells; his son: Colton
Wells of Ranger; his daughter: Chaelyn Wells of
Ranger; his parents: Kalem and Debbie Wells of
Cleburne and Rhonda and Alton Watson of Ranger;
brothers: Jacob Wells (RHS-2008) of Ranger, Shane
Wells of Corinth, TX, and Chase Wells of Cleburne;
sisters: Jessica Wells (RHS-2010) and fiancé Joe
McPherson of Ranger, Kayla Wells of Cleburne,
and Kristy Wells of Odessa; grandparents: Carol
and Sue Braddock of Ranger, Ronald (RHS-1971)
and Rhonda Gilbert of Brownwood; great-grand-
mother: Emma Williams of Ranger; and step-
grandmother: Janet McPherson.
