George & Vina Mae Munnerlyn GEORGE MAZON MUNNERLYN was born in Eastland county in the Bullock community in 1910 & graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1929. Married Vina Rasmussen in 1931 and had two sons, Keith, Larry (died of a cerebral hemorrhage in 1968) and one daughter, Karen in 1940. He worked in the oilfields until 1938, then moved to a farm in south Stephens county. He drove a school bus, attended Ranger Jr. College at Ranger, TX, & coached jr. high football. A team he coached in jr. high won the state championship when they were in high school-the only state championship Ranger ever won. G.M. died Oct. 17, 1995. WIFE: VINA MAE RASMUSSEN MUNNERLYN, 88, died on Aug. 19, 1998 in Breckenridge. Vina was born in Erath County & graduated from Dublin High School. She attended Texas Wesleyan College in Fort Worth & then played professional basketball for the Texas Quick Lights. She moved to Stephens County in 1938 and was the widow of George Mazon Munnerlyn, whom she married in 1931. She was survived by one son, Keith Munnerlyn of Breckenridge; one daughter, Karen Maag of Breckenridge; one brother, N.A. "Jack" Rasmussen of Pearland; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. SON: LARRY MUNNERLYN, son of G.M. & Vina, was born in Gorman, TX in 1939. He graduated from Breckenridge HS in 1957, attended OU two years, served in the Marine Corps four years, graduated from North Texas State in 1967, moved to Hereford, TX later that year. Had a contract to teach and coach the fall of 1968 in Hereford, but in June he died of a cerebral hemorrhage at the age of 29.
