EVA LONG BOBO, 96, who taught school for 19 years
before going to college and getting a degree, died
on Aug. 6, 1992 in Eastland, TX, with interment in
Evergreen Cemetery at Ranger, TX.
Born on Feb. 17, 1895, in Comanche, TX, she was a high
school graduate and received her bachelor's degree in
teaching from North Texas State University in 1937 and
her master's degree from Hardin-Simmons in 1950. Before
receiving her degrees, she taught public school in
Proctor from 1918-20, in Gustine from 1920-22, in
DeLeon from 1922-25, in Ranger from 1926-33, and in
Breckenridge from 1934-49. She returned to Ranger in
1949 and taught public school until 1961 and a private
kindergarten class from 1961-67 when she retired. She
was a member of the First United Methodist Church of
Ranger, the 1920 Club, the Garden Club and the American
Association University of Women. She was the widow of
E.H. Bobo.
