RAYNEAL BAZE, 74, of Abilene, TX & formerly of Eastland,
died on Oct. 15, 2000.
Mr. Baze was born in Ackerly. He graduated from Gorman
High School and was a veteran of WWII, having served in
the U.S. Navy. He received his B.S. from Hardin Simmons
University & his Masters from North Texas State University.
He married Meredith Black in 1950 and was a lifetime
educator. He taught at Olden, Carbon and Ranger, TX before
moving to Eastland in 1965 where he served as the principal
of Siebert Elementary School. He retired in 1984 and moved
to Abilene in 1999. He was a member of the First Baptist
Church of Eastland.
Survivors include his wife, Meredith of Abilene; one son,
David Baze of Clyde; two brothers, Earl Baze of Sacramento,
CA, Mavis Baze of Missoula, MT; one sister, Dorothy Andry
of Seattle, WA; two grandchildren. Interment was in Murray
Cemetery at Carbon, TX.
