COACH RICHARD HENDERSON, 54, was born in Electra,
TX, to Katherine Greer & John C. Henderson on
February 26, 1924. A graduate of TCU, where
he played football, he came to Ranger in 1950
as the Assistant Coach (Line) for the Ranger
under Head Coach, Boone Yarbrough, and then
assumed the position of Head Coach for several
years before his death in September of 1978.
He served in Europe during WWII and returned
home to finish college.
His wife, Marilyn, has taught at Ranger High
School since 1953 and is now retired. A daughter,
Mimi Henderson Morgan (RHS-1977), resides in
Ranger with her husband, Henry F. "Hank" Morgan
(RHS-1982). Mimi is also a teacher at Ranger
Elementary. Four grandchildren include Gage
Grogan (RHS-2003), Matt Morgan (RHS-2002),
Laura Lee Grogan (RHS-2005), & Krysten Morgan
(RHS-2006).
