MARIE ESTALENE "TILLIE" BOONE TURNER, 87, died
on Oct. 25, 2008 in Abilene, TX, with burial in Bullock
Cemetery near Ranger, TX.
Marie was born June 23, 1921 in Stephens County to Daniel Wayne
& Rosa (Mitchell) Boone. She married Gordon H. Turner in Dallas,
TX in July of 1947, and he preceded her in death on July 29,
2006. She & Gordon worked for Cullum & Boren Apparel Factory
for 30 years in Dallas. In 1973, they moved to Ranger & opened
Ranger Athletic Manufacturing Company which they sold in 1978
and continued to manage for another 10 years. She and Gordon
enjoyed farming and raising cattle on their land north of Ranger.
Marie was a member of First United Pentecostal Church of Ranger.
She is preceded in death by her parents Daniel Wayne and Rosa
Boone, her husband, Gordon, and a brother D.W. Boone.
Marie is survived by two brothers; Troyce M. Boone & wife Effie
Mae of Ranger, Wilbur "Pete" Boone (RJC-1948) & and wife Sarah
of Hobbs, NM and several nieces and nephews.
NOTE: Her brother Wilbur passed away Oct. 22, 2019.
