Grace Wallace GRACE SINGLETON WALLACE, 98 of Ranger, TX passed away on Jan. 25, 2008 at her son's home, with burial was at Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger, TX. Grace was born on Jan. 26, 1909 in Young County to Edward Rutledge & Lou Ella (Luman) Singleton. She was a graduate of Woodson High School to the 11th grade and Breckenridge High School to finish the 12th grade and she attended Business College. Grace married Lonnie E. "Shorty" Wallace in Sept. of 1928 in Breckenridge TX, and he preceded her in death on May 4, 1978. She worked for many years at Greer's Western Store, ran the Lone Star Chicken Inn, worked for Tommy's Grocery and for Mary Huling in her fabric store. She loved to oil paint deer and nature scenery, as well as many other outdoor activities. Grace was a faithful member of the Mesquite and Rusk St. Church of Christ for 70 years and was dearly loved by her church family. The last few months of her life she looked forward to Don Adams bringing communion to her. Grace was the last of her generation in the Wallace and Singleton Family. She was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister. She was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother & had many many friends. Grace passed away one day before her 99th birthday. At the time of her death, Grace was survived by her daughter Christene (RHS-1946) Ready of Ranger, a son Eddy Wallace (RHS-1954) and his wife Carol of Strawn. Grandchildren; Leta Guest and husband Richard of Fort Worth, Belinda Morgan and husband Tim of Eastland, Bobbie Wallace of Gordon, Joanna Barron and husband Jeremy of Ranger, step-granchildren Caren Alvis and James of Springtown and Hank Morgan (RHS-1982) & wife Mimi Henderson Morgan (RHS-1977) of Ranger, great-grand- children Christopater Alford, Ashley and Brittany Sharp, Orin Mallory, McGregor, Sawyer, and Oliver Barron, step-great-grandchildren Matthew Morgan and wife Tonya, Kristen Morgan, Gage and Lee Grogan and Andrew Alvis. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family and friends.
