NOLAN MAYFIELD BUTLER, 70, died Oct. 25, 1994 in
Lubbock, TX, from complications following anuerism
surgery. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery in
Ranger, TX. His body has since been moved to
Hereford, TX.
Nolan was born Dec. 26, 1923 at Hylton, TX. He
grew up in Morton Valley and graduated from Morton
Valley High School. He was a Veteran of WW II,
serving in the U.S. Navy. He married Willie Ruth
Dunlap in May of 1947 in Carbon. He was employed
by Lone Star Gas Company for 43 years. He moved to
Hereford in 1988 and was a member of the First
Baptist Church of Hereford, member of the Hereford
Lions Club, and a former executive director of the
United Way for Deaf Smith County.
Survivors at the time of his death include his wife,
Willie Ruth of Hereford; a daughter, Elaine Forester
of Hereford; a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and
Rhonda Reid Butler (both of RHS-1970) of Stephenville;
three brothers, J.C. Butler of Eastland (now decd),
Bryan Butler (now decd), and Alton Butler of Casa
Grande, AZ; two sisters, Inez Wilkerson of Casa Grande,
AZ and Monnie Sanders of Cleburne; three grandchildren,
Jeff & Justin Butler of Stephenville, & Tracy Forester
of Hereford.
