J.C. "RED" ROSE, 84, of Ranger, TX died Dec. 10, 2001 at his home. Mr Rose was born on Feb. 17, 1917 in Baird, TX, to James C. & Ramie (Simmons) Rose. He graduated from Baird High School and attended Police Academy. He worked for the City of Ranger first as a patrolman and later as Chief of Police for some 28 years. He was a past member of Oddfellows & Royal Neighbors and attended the Church of Christ. Survivors at the time of his death are one daughter, Margaret Greene of Olney; one brother, Marvin Rose of Ranger; two sisters Susie Maurine Bratton of Ranger and Colene Tenney of Gorman; a step-sister, Edith Blue of Breckenridge; two grandson, Kevin Dumith of Dallas and Shayne Dumith of Olney; one great-grandson, Zack Dumith of Olney; several nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Leon Stewart of Ranger.
