JAMES VICTOR SHORT, 71, died in March of 1978
at Hobbs, NM, with burial there. He was born
on Sept. 5, 1906 at Caddo, OK to Joseph C. &
Delia Damron Short. Victor attended Ranger
High School in the Class of 1928 at Ranger,
TX and played on the 1926 Football Champion
team with his brother. He married Alta Searcy
who died in 1993. Their children were James
V. Short Jr. & David Short, both deceased.
His siblings were Grace Short Earnest, Cora
Short Purman, Catherine Short Davenport, and
Charles Homer Short (RHS-1928), all are now
deceased.
