LOYD F. LANDTROOP, 88, of Ranger, TX died on
June 17, 2001, with interment in Evergreen
Cemetery at Ranger.
He was born on Oct. 5, 1912 in Bosque County,
Texas to G.F. & Edith (Lester) Landtroop. Loyd
grew up in Ranger and was a graduate of Ranger
High School. He married Helen Savage in April
of 1935 in Mineral Wells. She preceded him in
death on Sept. 26, 1990.
Mr. Landtroop worked for Ranger Machine Company
starting when he was 18 years old until the company
closed. He later worked for Lone Star Gas as a
machinist. When he retired he opened his own
machine shop. He was a member of Second Baptist
Church. He enjoyed working in the machine shop
and gardening.
Survivors at the time of his death are two sons,
James Landtroop (RHS-1957) of Ranger and Michael
Landtroop (RHS-1966) of San Antonio; a daughter,
Linda Harris (RHS-1961) of Ranger; one brother,
Raymond Landtroop (RHS-1938) of Irving; four
granddaughters and 5 grandsons; 12 great-grand-
children; and numerous nieces and nephews.
