MARY ETTA BRASHEARS COX, 82, of Eastland, TX died
on Dec. 7, 2001, with burial in the Eastland Cemetery.
Mrs. Cox was born on Jan. 26, 1919 to Daniel F. &
Mamie Lou James Brashears in the Bullock Community
near Ranger, TX. She grew up in Ranger and attended
Ranger High School in the Class of 1936 & married
Walter E. Cox (RHS-1937)
in Sept. of 1938. She had been a resident of
Eastland since 1955. She was a homemaker & mother
and a member of the First United Methodist Church
of Eastland Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra
Holloway.
Survivors at the time of her death are her husband,
Walter Cox of Eastland; two sons, Eddie Cox of Red
Oak and Danny Cox of Arlington; one sister, Mozelle
Stroud of Tyler; four grandchildren, Jayna Bernard,
Brent Cox, Corey Cox and Cody Cox; and one great-
grandchild, Bishop Bernard.
